Castelli Kindergarten is an international nursery school located in Marino, in the province of Rome, in the heart of the Castelli Romani (Roman Castles) area.
Castelli Kindergarten was founded in 1977 with the aim of creating a small school which would remain small: in the early years, children need a warm and welcoming environment that can meet their individual needs, with teachers who will take good care of them and help guide them through life. In larger schools, young children may feel lost among the older ones and risk being “crushed” by firmer discipline.
At that time, there were no English schools for children under 5: Castelli Kindergarten was the second school in Rome to meet this need.
We strongly promote parent-teacher contact, which encourages children to proudly share their achievements and also allows us to show parents how they can get the best from their children by following the right approach. Children always remember their first school, and each day our staff work their hardest to help create happy memories for our young learners.
In this area of the website you can view our school calendar and Opening times. Castelli Kindergarten is open from Monday to Friday, excluding national holidays. Three attendance options are available: morning session from 8.30 am to 12.15 pm (without lunch), morning session (with lunch) from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm or full day from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm. After-school classes are also available from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm, costing € 12 per hour.
At Castelli Kindergarten, we educate children of all nationalities to enable them to join any international school. However, the aim of the school is not only English-language acquisition. We also aim to teach the children respect and to encourage friendship, generosity and kindness. We are proud to equip the children with skills and values that will remain with them all through their lives.
Besides being a nursery school in the Castelli Romani area which follows the British curriculum, Castelli Kindergarten also offers an excellent reading programme and has adopted the New Heinemann Maths Scheme to teach first steps in Maths. English language is learnt through play, songs, stories and outdoor activities, providing the children with the perfect foundation for entrance into any international school.
